I thought I would update the site with some pictures of my current tank; this tank is nearly one year old now and is stocked heavily with LPS corals and some SPS. In the future I will add pictures of the Sump and other things behind the scenes.

Biological gems found in Philippines
Researchers say they identified 300 species that they think are new to science this spring during a biological prospecting expedition to the Philippines, organized by the California Academy of Sciences. Full story can be found HERE.
System Sump Design
I have been busy working out the new sump design for my new tank, originally it was going to be two sumps joined together but this would have been to hard to make work. The sump that I have drawn up consists of a filter sock area, Deep Sand Bead (DSB), Refugium and a small Chemical filtration area.

Skimz Kone SK252 Skimmer arrives
Wow this thing looks like a beast, the build quality including glue joints and body construction are all up to Deltec quality standards. This product was very well packaged with everything being bubble wrapped and all nice and tight in the box. Construction was a breeze even with no instructions on assembly, only instruction given were tuning and setup instructions (found here).
